A full day’s workshop and museum visit focusing on books and how they were made. In collaboration with Sarah Burles of Cambridge Art Tours, we will be creating our own 'long-stitch' leather bound books before visiting the Fitzwilliam Museum’s current exhibition “Colour: The Art and Science of Illuminated Manuscripts”. The morning workshop will be a wonderful opportunity to experience the process of making a book first hand and will enhance our visit to the Fitzwilliam exhibition in the afternoon which will be a rare opportunity to view a large selection of illuminated manuscripts from the museum’s stunning collection.
Cost includes all workshop materials, book-binding tuition, guided tour of the exhibition, refreshments in the morning and afternoon. The workshop element will take place at Cambridge Artworks, CB4 3EF with a maximum of 10 participants.
